St.Paul's Girls' School Prefects' 3-Day Leadership Camp......

St. Paul's Girls School Waragoda, a transformative journey took place recently as the school's prefects embarked on a three-day leadership camp at St.Vincent home, Maggona. Designed to nurture and enhance the leadership qualities of the young women, this camp was a significant step towards building a generation of effective leaders.

Guided by the theme "How to be an Effective Leader," the camp was under the leadership of Rev.Father Randil OMI. From the outset, the camp aimed to instill a deep understanding of leadership, fostering skills that extend beyond the school years.

Day One began with Rev.Father Randil OMI dividing the attendees into groups and posing a profound question: "What is life?" Through this introspective exercise, the prefects were primed for deeper reflections on leadership. The day unfolded with insightful teachings on life itself, setting the tone for a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Day Two was dedicated to the core concept of self-leadership. In the serene embrace of nature near a peaceful pond, the prefects engaged in meditation, achieving inner calmness. The discussions that followed delved into the vulnerabilities of leaders and strategies to overcome them. Through role-playing, the prefects tackled scenarios related to school issues, fostering problem-solving skills.

An Adventure Walk tested the prefects' resilience, reminding them that leaders must confront life's challenges head-on. Group activities provided a platform to learn the art of understanding and effective communication. A comprehensive lecture on navigating societal complexities equipped the prefects to confidently face diverse challenges.

The day's pinnacle was a lesson on leadership within the family unit. Recognizing the influence leaders wield at home, Rev.Father Randil OMI imparted invaluable insights. "A Night of Pleasure" showcased the student leaders' talents and capabilities, reinforcing their growing confidence. On the third day, a spiritual dimension was added. After attending Mass, a sermon centered on contentment emphasized gratitude. Rev.Father Randil's guidance on spiritual connection served to ground the prefects in values that underpin effective leadership. Culminating in speeches on various topics, the day honed the prefects' speaking skills, enabling them to articulate confidently.
